Minor Service
A minor service is recommended to be carried out every 5,000 km or 6 months, which ever comes first. The price will vary depending on the make and model, parts and type of oil required. Commercial, 4X4, diesel and imported cars are not a problem for the team at J&L Allcar Mechanical Repairs with up to date scan tools and other equipment required to perform these services.

A Minor service includes:

  • Replace the engine oil and filter
  • Check all exterior lights and horn
  • Check & top up any fluids
  • Full under vehicle check
  • Inspect belts, hoses, & exhaust
  • Inspect brakes, tyres & pressures
  • Carry out a complete safety inspection
  • We only use top quality Oils and Parts

Major Service
This service is recommended to be carried out every 20,000 km or 24months, which ever comes first. The price will vary depending on the make and model, parts (spark plugs, filters etc) and type of oils required.

A major service includes:

  • Replace the engine oil & filter
  • Check all external lights & horn
  • Check & top up any fluids
  • Full under vehicle check
  • Inspect belts, hoses, & exhaust
  • Inspect brakes, tyres & pressures
  • Carry out a complete safety inspection
  • Replace air filter
  • Replace all spark plugs
  • Replace coolant
  • Replace fuel and cabin filter (some models)
  • We only use top quality Oils and Parts

Tune
A tune on your motor vehicle includes replacing or adjusting the following:

A tune includes:

  • Replace spark plugs
  • Replace rotor (if applicable)
  • Check distributor cap (replace if necessary)
  • Check timing (adjust if necessary)
  • Check ignition wires (replace if necessary)
  • Check ignition performance (firing voltage and ignition patterns)
  • Check idle speed (adjust if necessary)
  • Check choke (carbureted engines)
  • Clean fuel injectors
  • Check compression and/or power balance (identifies bad fuel injectors as well as compression problems)
  • Check manifold intake vacuum (reveals exhaust restrictions)
  • Check exhaust emissions (verifies fuel mixture, ignition performance and emissions performance)
  • Check vehicle computer for trouble codes
  • Install new air filter
  • Replace fuel filter
  • Check all emission controls (EGR valve, air pump, etc.)
